Sharks XV: big win sets up quarters berth

THE Sharks XV gained an emphatic 38-7 victory over the visiting Leopards in their penultimate pool match of the Vodacom Cup in the curtain-raiser at King’s Park on Saturday.

The Sharks, scoring six tries to one, are one of seven teams that have secured their quarter-final play-off places. In the South Section, the four teams are the Pampas XV, Western Province, Sharks XV and the Free State Cheetahs while Golden Lions, Griquas and the Pumas are the contenders from the North Section.

The Sharks XV will play the Pumas in Witbank on Saturday to see out their final game of the qualifying stage before the quarter-finals. They are currently in third spot on the South Section log.
