Sharks XV remain unbeaten

FLYHALF Fred Zeilinga remained top of the points-scoring list as he succeeded with all 10 of his kicks to steer the Sharks XV to a 54-24 win over Boland in their Vodacom Cup South Section match at King’s Park in Durban last night.

Zeilinga kicked 24 points (six conversions and four penalties) as the Sharks XV out-scored Boland by six tries to three.

This win stretched the Sharks’ unbeaten run to five matches.

Flank Brynard Stander scored two tries for the Sharks but a second-half Boland revival — and two tries — cut their lead to 13 points at one stage, before a brace of late tries sealed the win for the home team.

Sharks XV - Tries: Brynard Stander (2), S’bura Sithole, Heimar Williams, Murray Bondesio, Jaco van Tonder; Conversions: Fred Zeilinga (6); Penalties: Zeilinga (4).

Boland - Tries: Ulrich Pretorius, Jacquin Jansen, Penalty Try; Conversions: Ricardo Croy (3); Penalty: Croy.
