Sharks in the dark: lights out at King’s Park

2011-09-24 00:00

THE lights went out for the Sharks on and off the field at King’s Park last night, but they fought back from a poor first half to beat Griquas 29-18 in their Currie Cup match.

The Sharks, without any spark, were trailing 7-10 when the stadium lights failed midway through the first half, leaving the players huddled on the field for 10 minutes. Once the lights were restored the Sharks grew progressively stronger and eventually scored four tries, two in the final quarter, for a crucial bonus point win.
