Sharks lose Swiel to Harlequins

CAPE TOWN — Sharks flyhalf Tim Swiel will leave the Durban franchise to return to English club Harlequins on a full-time basis.

The English-qualified 21-year-old joined Harlequins in October last year on a four-month loan deal before returning to the Sharks in February.

During his short time at The Stoop, Somerset-born Swiel made 10 senior appearances across the Anglo-Welsh, English Premiership and European Rugby Champions Cups.

Commenting on the announcement, Harlequins director of rugby Conor O’Shea told the club’s official website: “Tim made a real impact in incredibly trying circumstances whilst with us on loan earlier in the season and we are delighted that the Sharks have granted him his release to come back to us on a full-time basis.
