Sheik: still on the run

2010-12-30 00:00

RUNAWAY blue light stalker Ismail Sheik might have more years added to his 21-year prison sentence because he will be charged with contempt of court as soon as he is arrested, police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Vincent Mdunge said yesterday.

Sheik was convicted earlier this month on two counts of indecent assault, kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice in 2007.

After his attempt to continue fighting for his freedom failed in the Pietermaritzburg high court on December 14, Sheik was ordered to hand himself over. But he failed to do so, and police launched a countrywide manhunt.
