Skonk Nicholson Festival

THE fifth annual Husqvarna Skonk Nicholson Rugby Festival, named after the Maritzburg College schoolmaster and rugby coach, takes place next week, starting on April 3. There are three days of rugby for U16 and U14 sides from KZN, Border, Gauteng and Mpumalanga. Eighteen schools are represented, 10 have two sides and four schools that have just one team at either U14 or U16 level.

Rugby on April 3 and April 4 takes place on two fields adjacent to one another, Goldstones and Snows. The U16 matches will be on Goldstones and U14 on Snows. On April 6, to finish by 1 pm, some U16 games will be played on Nicholsons and some U14 games on Lamonds.


Tuesday April 3: U16 (all on Goldstones) and U14 (all on Snows)

9 am: Pionier vs Menlopark, Hilton vs. Hudson Park; 10 am St Charles vs Cornwall College, Kes vs Nelspruit; 11.20 am: Hilton vs Trinityhouse, Trinityhouse vs Development; 12.30 pm Westville vs Hudson Park, Pionier vs EG Jansen; 2 pm: Voortrekker vs Kes, St Charles vs Menlopark; 3.10 pm: Maritzburg College vs Queens, Westville vs Jeppe; 4.20 pm: DHS vs Brandwag, M. College vs Queens.


Wednesday, April 4

9 am: St Charles vs Trinityhouse; 10.10 am: Voortrekker vs Cornwall College, Hudson Park vs Development; 11.20 am: Pionier vs Kes, Hilton vs Menlopark; 12.30 pm: DHS vs Queens, Westville vs EG Jansen; 2 pm: Westville vs Menlopark, Pionier vs Kes; 3.10 pm: Hilton vs Brandwag, M. College vs Jeppe; 4.20 pm: M. College vs. Hudson Park, Queens vs Nelspruit.
