2011-11-22 00:00

A 28-YEAR-OLD-MAN who participated in the murder of a businessman and his wife has been sentenced to 30 years’ imprisonment after he pleaded guilty.

Mduduzi Richman Kunene from Bilanyoni, Paulpietersburg, admitted taking part in the murder of Bongani Wilmont Thwala and his wife Happiness Nokuthula Khanyile in October 23, shooting Nokuthula himself when she alerted her husband as he and another man waited for him.

Kunene said Siphiwe Dlamini, Bongani’s relative, and two other men asked him to help one of them kill Bongani, as there was a feud between Siphiwe and Bongani.

Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Vincent Mdunge said Sifiso Kunene (31), Naniwe Thwala (23) and Jerome Kunene (38) will stand trial for the murders in the Paulpietersburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
