2010-04-09 00:00

THE Deccan Chargers used cool heads as they mowed down the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s intimidating total of 184 for 6 last night.

Proteas run-machine Jacques Kallis continued his sparkling form this season with a blistering 68 off 44 balls, to maintain his standing as the leading run-getter in the competition. he had excellent support from Virat Kohli, whose 58 came off 35 balls.

But the Chargers’ Tirumalasetti Suman chalked up a well-timed 78 not out off 57 balls, before Andrew Symonds provided the fireworks to bring the team home with 53 off just 24 balls, to bring up the Chargers’ win.

Deccan Chargers 186 for 3 (Suman 78*, Symonds 53*) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore 184 for 6 (Kallis 68, Kohli 58, Ojha 2-24) by seven wickets.
