She was searched by police upon her arrival from Brazil on Monday afternoon.

The South African woman was found with two large parcels of cocaine and heroin in her luggage.

“She was arrested after a crime intelligence driven operation was conducted collectively with SAPS Border Police, Customs and Excise and Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, Durban, at King Shaka International Airport,” said police spokesperson Colonel Jay Naicker.

The alleged drug trafficker appeared in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court yesterday on charges of drug possession.
