THE seven-month-old baby girl snatched from the Pietermaritzburg Department of Home Affairs is still missing.

Fanele Asemahle Dlamini, from Swayimane near Wartburg, was kidnapped on Tuesday, July 8.

Her aunt, Nokwanda Dlamini (18), said: “I had just fed the baby and we were waiting for her mother who was busy with the birth certificate paperwork.”

Dlamini said the woman who took the infant had spent three hours with them — from 12 pm until 3 pm — when she disappeared with her niece. “She was friendly and told us her name was Sma and that she was from Impendle …”

The kidnapper is a woman in her 20s, and was wearing navy skinny jeans, a black jacket with pink embroidery, and with braids. She is short and fair in complexion.

Captain Thulani Zwane urged anyone with information about Fanele’s whereabouts to contact Pietermaritzburg police at 033 845 2415 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
