Soccer: United, Dikilu agree to part ways

2010-03-11 00:00

MARITZBURG United have lifted their suspension of defender Bageta Dikilu, and the club and player have agreed to part ways, the club said in a statement.

Dikilu had been suspended pending an investigation of alleged match-fixing following United’s 1-0 away defeat against Aces on February 10.

The club’s statement read: “All investigations have been completed without conclusive evidence. At no stage did the club lay charges against the player; nor did the player appear before the club’s disciplinary committee.”

• Maritzburg United have organised buses to ferry a large contingent of supporters to Durban on Saturday for their Telkom Knock-out clash against Amazulu.

Buses will leave Market Square at 11 am. Tickets are R50 inclusive of match ticket. Tickets are available at the club offices at 397 Victoria Road, or call Kholeka at 033 345 5666/7.
