South coaster of the Day

2011-03-30 00:00

LEANDRA Harmse is a personal assistant with a holiday group in Port Shepstone. She also writes blog posts and articles for various websites when she has time away from her job. The Witness asked her:

What is your favourite time of the year?

Winter. Not too warm or too cold.

What do you love the most about the South Coast?

The peacefulness and relaxed atmosphere. The lovely sea is of course another great thing about living on the South Coast.

Did you think the Proteas could bring the world cup home?

If they ensured that they stayed level-headed and didn’t get over confident, then yes.

What are going to do when you get home?

First it is enjoying Zumba [a dance fitness programme] and then spending a relaxing evening with my family.

If you had a visitor, where would you take them to showcase the South Coast?

Definitely Lake Eland.

What do you love the most about your job?

The diversity of my job and the fact that not one day is the same. Working for an amazing boss helps.

What do you wish you knew when you were younger?

To study harder and listen to my parents more often.

Describe yourself in five words.

Friendly, caring, hardworking, straightforward and enthusiastic.

What would you change about the South Coast?

Get rid of the potholes and have more entertainment places for older people.

Male or female friendships and why?

Male. They are not as sensitive as women and with them you do not have to pretend or compete.
