Southbroom: Two killed in crash

2011-10-10 00:00

TWO holiday-makers from Alberton died after their car collided with a truck in the Southbroom area on Friday morning.

The car was exiting from a service station when it collided in a side-impact accident with the truck.

When paramedics arrived on the scene, all four passengers were trapped in the vehicle. The elderly male driver and a female passenger died on impact due to the extensive injuries that they sustained during the collision.

The two other passengers, a 55-year-old female and a 15-year-old boy, sustained serious injuries and mental trauma.

Medics stabilised them on the scene before transporting them to the Netcare Margate hospital.
