THE ninth Triple Challenge takes place tomorrow morning. Multisporters, triathletes and run, bike and paddle specialists will line up at the start in Pietermaritzburg for the 100 km ultra, which finishes at Inanda Dam.

The Triple Challenge MultiX event enters its third year and has surpassed the Multisport event in terms of numbers.

The event comprises a 20 km trail run from the capital to Camperdown, followed by a 52 km mountain bike leg into the Valley of a Thousand Hills to Inanda Dam, to finish with either a 18 km paddle on Inanda Dam (Multisport) or a six-kilometre trail run (MultiX).

Individual athletes and teams of 2B start at 5.30 am followed by the rest of the team categories at 6 am.

Entrants need to register today. Details can be found at www.triplechallenge.co.za
