Speeding: But ‘not breaking the law’

A SENIOR manager in the Jozini Municipality in northern KwaZulu-Natal was allegedly caught driving at 205 km/h in a 120 km/h zone N2 on Saturday.

Chief finance officer Thabani Vusumuzi Mdluli was driving his green Audi TT from Durban when Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) officers stopped him near Gingindlovu.

When contacted, Mdluli denied that he driving at 205 km/h. “I don’t break the law. I was speeding, but I was driving at 140 km/h.

“I’m going to contact my lawyer to see what we can do about this,” said Mdluli. — WR.
