Speeding Porsches: son fined R1 800

2012-07-10 00:00

A MAN arrested for speeding on the N1 to Pretoria has pleaded guilty in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court to reckless and negligent driving.

Adam Hack (20) was fined R1 500 for driving at 188 km/h, Gauteng traffic police spokesperson Busaphi Nxumalo said.

Hack and his father, David (55), were arrested on Sunday for speeding in their Porsche GT3s. David was driving at 234 km/h, ahead of Adam.

David would appear in the same court tomorrow, facing charges of reckless and negligent driving, with an alternative charge of exceeding the general speed limit of 120 km/h.

Nxumalo said Adam claimed to be a South African Olympic swimmer, but Swimming SA could not confirm this.

Beeld reported that Swimming SA spokesperson Godfrey Monei knew most of the Olympic team swimmers, but did not know of an Adam Hack.
