Spring Break: South Coast holiday season heats up

2012-11-30 00:00

THE South Coast party scene is heating up this holiday season with non-stop entertainment day and night for the whole family from now until year end.

Spring Break Beach Festival starts tomorrow and boasts a host of international DJs along with South African pop act Locnville.

Event organiser Vicky Wentzel said there will be daily sports and fashion shows by students.

“Students and families must pack their picnic bags and with their deckchairs head for our beaches. Margate beach is the place to be at the moment. All entertainment will be free of charge, but a fee will be charged for the events taking place at night,” said Wentzel.

She said students from all over the country were already heading down yesterday.

More celebrities would be attending, like Dino Bravo, popular 5FM DJ Milkshake and international superstar Colleen Shannon.

“Supersport Varsity College volleyball nationals will be deciding the 2012 national champions on Margate beach.

“Also, the Vodacom Summer Tour has also got a full programme of beach entertainment for the whole family, with giveaways worth thousands of rands.”

She said the little ones would enjoy the Fanta fun zone happening in Port Edward, St Michaels, Hibberdene, Scottburgh and Margate on December 18 and 19 where the kids can enjoy big-screen computer gaming zones.

Rugby hero Francois Pienaar’s varsity sports tournaments start today.
