Spring Fest: Artists give their all to fans in the rain

2011-10-29 00:00

Idols winner Elvis Blue pours out his heart for the fans who braved the rain last night to enjoy music from him, Pietermaritzburg’s Mario Ogle, Teargas and other artists at the inaugural Spring Fest music festival at the Golden Horse Casino. Ogle kicked off the show with his popular track Can’t Stop Loving You and then serenaded the ladies with Stevie Wonder’s classic All I do — starting a screaming frenzy as he walked off the stage to greet the crowd. Blue had the crowd on their feet to sing along to hits such as Save Me from his debut album Lighthouse. Also on the bill were Lloyd Cele, Lady Lea, Liquid Deep and this year’s Idols winner, Dave van Vuuren, who was performing in Pietermaritzburg for the first time after clinching the title. “It is great to be here and to play for my Maritzburg fans. I cannot wait to give people soul music and have a lot of fun,” said an enthusiastic Van Vuuren.
