St Charles have slight edge as they host Hilton

2011-01-29 00:00

THE only major game being played in the midlands is at St Charles, who are hosting Hilton, while four other matches are in the Durban area.

Neither St Charles nor Hilton have dominated earlier matches played, with Hilton winning two and losing two and St Charles winning three and losing two.

Both sides lost against Bishops and against the other team they have both played, St John’s from Harare.

While the Hilton batsmen have generally scored well, their bowlers have struggled. St Charles have the better balance and thus will go into the game as slight favourites.

Confident Maritzburg College travel to play Kearsney. They met last week at the Maritzburg Oval in the Sunfoil Night League and won convincingly. This match will be expected to give College a win again, although probably not as easily.

Durban High School, after an easy win against Krugersdorp last Saturday and five other matches in Port Elizabeth at the Grey HS Festival where they won one and lost two games, will be hosting Northwood.

Glenwood, surprised by Westville last week, will be determined to bounce back against visitors Michaelhouse.

The home team have the better record, having won four of their six matches and los t to Westville.

Michaelhouse have played four matches, losing three with just the one win.

Westville will be very confident after beating Glenwood when they host Clifton. The latter lost against St Charles last week. At the College Festival Clifton beat Helpmekaar but lost against St Davids, while Westville beat both these two schools.
