St Helena: talk by Visiting professor

VISITING Canadian professor Daniel Yon will give a talk about St Helena island, hosted by the KZN Friends of St Helena Society.

St Helena is a small island off the west coast of Africa and is famous as the place where Napoleon was exiled and died.

It was also used by the British as a prison for Boer War prisoners.

Professor Yon was born on St Helena and after studying in England he returned to teach history and establish a heritage society.

His topic will cover the island and its interesting history and features.

His first talk will be at St Luke’s Anglican Church Hall, Woodlands, at 6.30 pm today.
