Stabbed widow: Man arrested

2012-04-28 00:00

WHILE the funeral of Venotha Ince (51) was taking place yesterday, police were questioning a suspect they arrested in connection with her murder early yesterday.

Ince was murdered at her Egret Road, Mount View, home in the early hours of Thursday morning.

She had been stabbed multiple times.

Mountain Rise detectives under the command of Captain Pipes Haffajee searched through the night and arrested a man aged about 30 in the Copesville area.

Ince’s cellphone was allegedly found on him.

It is alleged that he had previously been employed to carry out improvements at the widow’s home.

Weekend Witness was told yesterday that the police went to the suspect’s home in the early hours of yesterday but he was not there.

They found him at a house in Pakis.

He is due to appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
