Stolen: Second load of cars hijacked

2012-09-03 00:00

A TRUCK carrying six vehicles was hijacked by six armed men on the N3 in the Hammarsdale area on Saturday evening.

It was the second such hijack in KZN in two weeks. In Saturday’s incident, the driver and his assistant were held hostage and dropped off in Hilton.

Police spokesperson Colonel Jay Naicker said the vehicles were being transported from Durban to Johannesburg.

“The value of the vehicles is not known at this stage,” Naicker said, adding that it is still unkown which company the vehicles belong to.

About two weeks ago, a truck transporting six imported used cars was hijacked by four armed men on the N3 near Pietermaritzburg.
