Stolen goods found in Bhobhoyi raid

2011-03-14 00:00

MEMBERS of the SA Police Force in Port Shepstone on Friday night recovered stolen property from several houses in the Bhobhoyi area after they had received tip-offs from members of the community.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid confirmed that most of the stolen property found in the houses had been reported missing in a series of car robberies that had taken place in the area.

“Among the items recovered were sound systems, car radios, DVDs and car batteries,” said Wiid.

Two suspects were arrested during the raids and they will both be appearing in court today on charges of theft and possession of stolen property.

Wiid confirmed that the two suspects have been linked to other crimes.

“We are looking into the possibility that they are responsible for house break-ins that have taken place in the Marburg area,” she said.

“The work done by the police officers involved on Friday night must be commended.” — Witness Reporter.
