Stolen research: return my data, Student pleads

2011-07-15 00:00

A DISTRAUGHT doctoral student, Ian Little (29) of Curry’s Post, is searching for the fruits of 10 years’ research that was stolen when his house was burgled.

Little returned from a vocational trip in Uganda last Friday to find “everything” in his cottage gone, including his HP laptop and 160 Gb external drive, where he saved his research data.

His laptop and external drive had his masters thesis and his PhD research on conservation science that he is pursuing with the University of Cape Town.

Little told The Witness, “I’m just pleading with anyone who might know where I can get my data back to contact me. I don’t want that person to think they need bring back the laptop, but I just want the actual data because that’s the important thing.”

If you know where Little can find this important data, call him at 084 240 7341. — WR.
