Stormers four over injuries

2012-05-05 00:00

CAPE TOWN — Stormers Coach Allister Coetzee yesterday confirmed that four players had recovered from injuries and were available for selection to play the Cheetahs next Saturday: Gio Aplon (hamstring), Eben Etzebeth (shoulder), Jean de Villiers (wrist), and Andries Bekker (back).

However, Schalk Burger, Duane Vermeulen and Nick Koster (all knee injuries) are expected to return only after the June break (June 30) for the game against the Lions.

“We are in a good position at the moment, but it can all be quickly undone. The next four games are crucial to our campaign and our focus is fully on the Cheetahs next week,” said Coetzee.

“We are looking forward to playing in front of the Newlands crowd again. Our time on tour was good, but there is nothing like playing in front of our home fans. Newlands is a special place and the guys feed off that energy.”
