Sundowns: Laffour, Sandilands urge fans to show support

2012-11-02 00:00

JOHANNESBURG — Mamelodi Sundowns pair Anthony Laffor and Wayne Sandilands have admitted concern with some fans straying from the club in recent weeks.

Some supporters have gone as far as threatening to boycott matches following the club’s disastrous start to the season.

But with Brazilians going through a rough patch, the duo feel this is the time for the fans to show their true support for the club.

“… It is not an easy situation that we find ourselves in and this is the moment when we need them [fans] most,” Laffor told Football411.

A number of Sundowns fans were arrested early in October following ugly scenes at the Dobsonville Stadium when the team lost 2-0 to Moroka Swallows.

Sundowns travel to Durban to face AmaZulu tomorrow in the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals.
