‘Survivor' winner won't leave cops

Mostert narrowly ousted Grant Clarke (35) from Cape Town by three votes to two. The down-to-earth, straight-talking Afrikaans policewoman said she played the game as she “lives her real life”.

On Survivor, where deceit is par for the course, Mostert succeeded in surviving through alliances and winning crucial immunity challenges to last to take the title of sole survivor.

Responding to a question about whether she will quit her job as a policewoman, Mostert said, “No, if I can catch one criminal and make a difference in a person's life, my work is worth it”.

Clarke earlier said he will be getting a new tattoo every year, but quipped that it will now be difficult, as he didn't walk away with the R1 million.

Whether a third installment of Survivor is in the pipeline remains to be seen. “We're going to sit back and assess the success of these shows before we make a decision on future shows,” said Carl Fischer, head of

M-Net local productions.
