THE suspect in the murder case of Kimeera Rajbunsi (17) will appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court today.

The man was arrested on Wednesday after he confessed to killing Kimeera, his former girlfriend, loading her body into his car and dumping her in a pool of water in a sugarcane field in Glen Anil.

Provincial police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane said the suspect had pointed out the area where he had dumped the body. “It is alleged that on Monday, Kimeera’s mother returned home at Woodview from work at 5.35 pm and noticed that her daughter was not at home. She found the gate wide open, saw a broken frying pan and the blood on the floor was cleaned with a mop,” said Zwane.

He said the deceased’s cellphone was also left behind. The 21-year-old suspect is charged with kidnapping and murder.

A Facebook page in memory of Kimeera was created and generated over 2 100 likes.

In the description of the page was: “A Dynamic Young lady Taken too Soon, No Words Can Describe what an amazing person you where [sic] to each and everyone of us, You will be Sadly Missed by Many.”

The page carried a flood of condolence messages to the family with the page being updated with pictures of her and details of funeral arrangements.

Kimeera’s funeral will be held tomorrow from 11 am to 11.30 am at her residence at 26 Forestwood Gardens, Woodview, Phoenix, then move to Stanmore Hall in Phoenix before proceeding to the Clare Estate Crematorium at around 2 pm.
