Swallows looking for a form win

CAPE TOWN — Moroka Swallows will hope to continue their form in the Absa ­Premiership when they host Platinum Stars at Dobsonville Stadium tonight.

Swallows have claimed four points from their last two games, having been held to a 1-1 draw by Ajax Cape Town in midweek.

The Soweto side have recorded seven points from eight home matches this ­season. Their next three league opponents are Bloemfontein Celtic (away), Orlando Pirates (home) and AmaZulu (away).

The Birds are placed 13th on the Absa Premiership log with 14 points from 13 matches.

Stars suffered a third defeat from their last four league matches when they were beaten 2-1 at Polokwane City in midweek.

The Rustenburg side have claimed just three points from six away matches this ­season. Their next three league opponents are Kaizer Chiefs (away), Bidvest Wits and Chippa United (both at home).

Dikwena are placed 15th on the Absa ­Premiership log with 11 points from as many matches.

In head-to-head stats, Swallows and Stars have met in 22 league matches since the 2003/04 season.

The Birds have 14 wins compared with five for Dikwena, while just three matches have been drawn.

Swallows boast an unbeaten home record against Stars, with nine wins and two draws from 11 matches.

Last season, the Birds completed a league “double” over Dikwena, winning 2-0 in Soweto and 1-0 in Rustenburg.

Kick-off time is 8.15 pm.
