Swapo murder: police appeal for information

2012-10-23 00:00

POLICE appealed for help yesterday as they tried to find out what happened to a woman who was found murdered in the Swapo informal settlement in Copesville.

The semi-naked body of Dipolelo Mofokeng (28), from Lesotho, was found lying on the street on Sunday by a passer-by.

Police said she may have been raped.

“She sustained open wounds to her head, believed to be inflicted by a blunt object,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant Joey Jeevan.

She appealed to anyone that might have information to contact the investigating officer, detective warrant officer Ashokumar Baldowu on 033 386 9527 or 083 776 3206.

Alternatively, informants wishing to remain anonymous should contact Crimestop at 08600 10111.
