Swift half-marathon: Large turnout expected

2011-10-18 00:00

It’s that time of year again and organisers of the Swift Half-marathon are expecting a bumper turnout for the race on October 23. As usual, there will be fun events aplenty. All proceeds of the event — hosted jointly by the Hulamin Athletic Club and the Rotary Club of Pietermaritzburg — will go to the Thandanani Children’s Home in Edendale. Rotary Club president Sabitha Maharaj said, ‘I know the people of Pietermaritzburg will turn out in great numbers to support this event’. For details call Alex Anthony at 072 209 0092. Seen getting ready for the 2011 Swift Half-Marathon are (from left) Themba Ndlovu, Sharlene Mentory, Vernal Augustus, Rotarian Richard Boote, Roxanne Stegan and Alvin Bhimsen.
