TV: What’s hot on the box this week

THIS week’s must-see television show is SA’s Got Talent, in which singers, dancers and dogs get their five minutes in the spotlight.

The gloves come off between Ian von Memerty and Randall Abrahams, with Shado Twala having to play referee in episode four of the reality show, which can be seen on SABC2 at 7.30 pm on Thursday.

Other telly highlights this week include:

Lipstick Jungle (SABC3, Monday, 21:00): Don’t miss the start of the second season of this series about three modern New York women who support one another’s ambitions to make it big in the Big Apple.

Special Assignment (SABC3, Tuesday, 20:31): The team investigates an asthma epidemic in the little Northern Cape town of Danielskuil in this episode, titled Fighting For Breath.

Oceans (BBC Knowledge, DStv channel 251, Wednesday, 22:30): Discover the hidden secrets of our oceans with an international team of underwater explorers. During the series they will seek the truth behind rumours that the Mediterranean Sea has become a breeding ground for the Great White Shark.

3Talk with Noeleen (SABC3, Thursday, 15:50): The chat-show host looks at the issue of discipline and psychological health.

Cowboy Builders (BBC Lifestyle, DStv channel 180, Friday, 19:30): Melinda Messenger and Dominic Littlewood stand up for consumers whose homes have suffered at the hands of unreliable workmen. They help repair the damage and hunt down the cowboy builders.
