A 67-YEAR-OLD taxi boss is fighting for his life in hospital after he was shot by unknown men in Richmond on Sunday night.

Robert Hlongwa, whose taxi operates in the Eston area, was attacked in Shepstone Street near his home by occupants of a car who stopped and asked for directions.

According to police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane, they are investigating a case of attempted murder.

Jabulile Hlongwa told The Witness that her husband is still in the intensive care unit in hospital. “He said he was returning home when a Golf stopped next to his taxi. One man came to him asking for directions and while he was giving directions, another man came with a firearm. They shot him and fled,” said Jabulile.
