Teacher murdered: principal and three others arrested in Kwanongoma

POLICE arrested a school principal from kwaNongoma, Zululand, along with three other people, including a head of department at his school in connection with the murder of Enock Nkosi, also a teacher at the school.

Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Vincent Mdunge said Nkosi (50) was gunned down in the Esiphambanweni area on Wednesday afternoon.

He was driving his Nissan Hard Body pick-up when a grey Opel Astra overtook him.

The occupants of the Astra opened fire on his vehicle, killing him instantly.

A few hours later the tactical response team arrested the principal and Mkhulu Chauque (38), Mzwakhe Gumede (30) and Joshua Hlongwane (53) in connection with the murder.

The named three appeared at Hlabisa Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

The principal is due to appear on a date to be announced.

They were all remanded in custody pending further investigation.
