2012-12-20 00:00

FOUR young riders will miss out on the opportunity to participate in the annual 51 Pietermaritzburg Pony Show after a house breaking incident on a horse farm on Tuesday night.

A farmer who did not want to be named for fear that the assailants might attack her Ligdetton Farm in Howick, said the suspects hit her property last night.

They stole nine saddles, 10 bridles and one horse blanket ,” she said. She said the worst thing about the theft was that it would prevent her children as well as four of her horses from participating in the annual Pietermaritzburg Pony Show in Howick today.

She said the show was the largest, non-affiliate horse sport catering for teenagers aged 18 and younger. The stolen goods was worth more than R100 000.
