Think pink: Back breast cancer awareness drive

2010-05-04 00:00

TO commemorate the 85th Comrades Marathon, organisers of the PinkDrive initiative have big hopes of rallying 85 breast cancer survivors and 2010 supporters in Pietermaritzburg during their PinkDrive campaign.

Beginning on May 19, pink trucks will leave Gauteng and drive down to KwaZulu-Natal, stopping at various destinations where they will be used as mobile breast cancer awareness clinics where visitors can receive information on mammograms and early detection.

The “doctors’ rooms on wheels” will give medical attention to women who cannot afford medical aid.

PinkDrive also hopes to see Comrades runners supporting its initiative. Runners can visit for details.
