Three-Day Competition: Inland and Coastal teams up against it

2013-01-19 00:00

BOTH KZN teams in the CSA Provincial Three-day Competition, Inland and Coastal, will do well to avoid defeat when their matches come to a conclusion today at the Maritzburg Oval and in Durban respectively.

Gauteng declared on 365 for four with Jean Symes (who went to St John’s and not Hilton, as reported in yesterday’s Witness) hitting an unbeaten 170. In reply, Inland’s first innings realised 175 and in the follow-on they were 94 for five, still 96 behind with five wickets intact.

In Durban, Coastal were dismissed for 91 in their first innings, and were 164 for six at stumps in their second knock, with David Miller 63 not out. This was in reply to Griquas’ 195 and Coastal lead by 60 with four wickets remaining.

The T20 matches take place tomorrow.
