THREE men aged between 20 and 45 were arrested in the Gandaganda area of Sweetwaters yesterday in connection with the murder of Sipho Thusi.

Thusi (51) was brutally murdered and discovered by a community member lying along a footpath. A community leader said Thusi was murdered during a robbery. He was hacked with a machete and robbed of R450. His assailants stripped him naked, taking all his clothes.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Joey Jeevan, who confirmed the arrest, said the three were arrested yesterday afternoon after an intensive investigation by the Plesislaer police tracing unit.

“The police followed up on strong information and the three men were arrested yesterday afternoon,” Jeevan said.
