2011-09-06 00:00

A MAN who was in involved in an accident on the N3 northbound on Town Hill yesterday claimed his speed control device jammed before he crashed into two othr vehicles.

Rajen Chinaboo of the Road Traffic Inspectorate said the accident happened at lunchtime when a VW Jetta 5 collided with a VW Caddy and Toyota truck.

Chinaboo said the man claimed he was unable to brake after the speed control device jammed.

Sources in the motoring industry said it is impossible for a speed control device to malfunction because once the brakes are applied the device automatically disengages.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Joey Jeevan said the police will investigate but no case has yet been opened.
