Tibet film festival

2008-07-08 00:00

A TIBET film festival starts on Sunday at the Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre, Durban.

Join the Tibet Society of South Africa as it host itt’s annual film festival in celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s birthday and the society’s 13th anniversary.

The following films will be shown, starting at 9.45 am with 10 Questions for the Dalai Lama — His Holiness answers questions posed by film-maker and explorer Rick Ray.

At 11.45 am, an all-time favourite, The Cup Will Be Shown — a delightful comedy about the lighter side of life in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery.

And a recent addition at 2 pm is Dreaming Lhasa — an enigmatic ex-monk visits India to fulfil his dying mother’s last wish to deliver a charm box to a long-missing resistance fighter. It becomes a voyage of self-discovery and romance.

R60 all day or R25 per film. A vegetarian lunch will be available.

• Phone Chris at 031 266 8182 or Sandy at 031 201 4323 or visit www.tibet.org.za for further information.
