Tiger Tiger: PMB’s New club

2013-05-18 00:00

THE theme for Pietermaritzburg’s latest nightclub is set to throb at a different beat.

Revellers said goodbye to popular city nightclub Crowded House last month, but they will now have the opportunity to party with one of the most famous names in the country.

Tiger Tiger is coming to town and will offer something completely different to Maritzburg’s partygoers. Tiger Tiger and Franki Bananaz marketing and events manager Cairly Bradford said the reaction from Maritzburgers has been largely positive since the announcement was made last week.

“After I’d set up the Facebook group — Tiger Tiger PMB — we had about 500 likes within a few hours. It was something like 100 likes an hour. This is a big thing for Maritzburg. It’s something completely new, which we definitely need,” Bradford said.

The club, operating from the old Crowded House premises, will open its doors on June 1.

It will have two floors offering different types of music. Bradford said they had spent R750 000 on just sound and lighting.

Pietermaritzburg’s will be the fifth Tiger Tiger, with franchises in Durban, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Cape Town.
