Till points to sell Lotto tickets

2009-11-12 00:00

FOR the first time, lottery tickets can be bought at the checkout counters of a major supermarket chain.

National lottery operator Gidani has teamed up with Pick n Pay to sell Lotto and Lotto-plus quick-pick tickets at till points in an effort to increase convenience for players and enlarge its retail footprint.

Gidani spokesperson Thembi Tulwana said players will be able to buy eight denominations of Lotto and Lotto-plus quick-pick at Pick n Pay supermarkets, hypermarkets and selected franchise family and minimarket stores nationally, including Boxer Superstore, which is also part of the Pick n Pay group.

For now, only Lotto and Lotto-plus quick-pick will be available at these superstores.

Powerball, wina manje scratch cards and sportstake can be bought at the usual National Lottery retail outlets.
