A MAN wanted in connection with a murder and two business robberies has been arrested in the Pietermaritzburg CBD.

Police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane said Siyanda Sibisi was arrested on Saturday in Chief Albert Luthuli Street, after police were tipped off to his whereabouts. He was found in possession of a stolen 9 mm CZ Pistol and live rounds.

Sibisi is wanted in connection with a robbery at PPL Scrap Metals in Woodlands and from a shop in Church Street last month. He has also been linked to a murder at the Jika Joe settlement in September in which Sibusiso Madlala (30) was allegedly shot dead after an argument over Madlala’s girlfriend. He has also been charged with possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition. He appeared in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning and was remanded in custody until Monday, October 14.
