Toys for joy: angels drop in on injured kids

2009-12-10 00:00

THE charity organisation N3TC Duduza Angels, visited hospitals in the city yesterday donating toys to children who have been involved in accidents in a bid to cheer them up during the Christmas season.

They visited Edendale, Grey’s and Northdale hospitals and handed out more than 600 toys.

Praveen Sunderlall, a founder of the organisation, said the Angels always donate toys to children during the Christmas and Easter holidays, which is its way of giving back to the community.

“We all work in the medical field, some as paramedics and some as firemen, and most of the time we attend to accident scenes where we see children who have been injured and that is the most horrible sight.”

“This is our way of cheering up the many children in hospital; so far we have donated more than 600 toys to the three hospitals.”

Samke Mncube, the public relations officer at Edendale Hospital, commended the organisation for its charitable deeds.
