Toys: kids smile at 60 hospitals

2011-11-25 00:00

Amahle Shezi was one of hundreds of children at the paediatric wards in Pietermaritzburg’s Northdale, Grey’s and Edendale hospitals who received new toys as part of East Coast Radio’s Toy Story with Game.

The people of KwaZulu-Natal have generously been donating toys and cash to Toy Story since October.

The new toys are being delivered to children in around 60 hospitals across the province.

Red Cross Air Mercy Services helps East Coast Radio to reach outlying hospitals by delivering toys as part of their flying doctor service – which takes specialised treatment to rural parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

Teams from East Coast Radio and Game hand-deliver toys to hospitals in Pietermaritzburg, Durban, the north and south coast.
