Tree63 confirmed for Splashy Fen

2008-02-08 00:00

South African rock band Tree63 will be in South Africa next month and will perform at Splashy Fen 2008, which runs over the Easter weekend from March 20 to 24.

Tree63 last visited South Africa early in 2007 when their triumphant Tour the Beloved Country saw the band playing to over 23 000 fans at just eight shows. Their upcoming performance at Splashy Fen will also be a homecoming of sorts, as it’s been five years since they took to the stage at this annual music festival held near Underberg in KwaZulu-Natal.

Tree63 will join a line-up of over 70 established and up-and-coming artists, including the likes of Goldfish, Dan Patlansky, The Rudimentals, Kidofdoom, The Arrows, Guy Buttery, Syd Kitchen, Crossingpoint, Southern Gypsey Queen, New Loud Rockets, Gonzo Republic, Johnny Dopper & the Rubber Soles, Fire Through the Window and Habit To, as well as folk singer/songwriter Miriam Backhouse, who is the featured artist for 2008. Backhouse used to be known as the First Lady of Folk in the UK, and when she started gigging in Durban, the press named her the Queen of Folk.

Tickets are available at selected Game shops (R300), Computicket (R350) and at the festival gate (R400).

The price includes camping for the entire long weekend and entrance for children under 12 is free. For more information and the latest festival news, visit or contact Pedro at 082 892 6176.
