Trinidad get the better of Titans

2013-10-01 00:00

EVIN Lewis and Darren Bravo both scored superb half-centuries as Trinidad & Tobago beat the Titans by six runs on the Duckworth/Lewis method in their Champions League Twenty20 match at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad yesterday.

Opening batsman Lewis blazed his way to 70 off just 35 balls while Bravo weighed in with an equally impressive 63 off 44 deliveries after Trinidad & Tobago posted a formidable 188 for six. The Titans could only manage 153 for six off 17 overs before rain brought an end to the prospect of further play.

The result means that Trinidad & Tobago now have the inside lane in the race to a semifinal place, with Chennai having already qualified from Group B.
