Two Premier 60 matches on Sunday

2008-11-27 00:00

THERE are just two KZN Inland Premier 60 League matches this weekend.

These matches are both clashes that were postponed earlier in the season.

At the Michael Patricks Oval in Woodlands on Sunday, Orientals take on Newcastle side Northern Districts.

And on the Varsity number two Oval, Young Natalians will meet Midlands.

Meanwhile, in the Maritzburg Cricket Association first division, the Zingari second XI — seventh out of the eight league teams — lost by 15 runs to fourth-placed Lancashire seconds in a low-scoring game.

Donavan Knipe of winning side Lancs picked up seven Zingari wickets for 28 runs.

And MCA division one’s Masibemunye first side, in fifth place on the log, outplayed bottom team Young Natalians seconds by a massive 258 runs.

Masibemunye scored an incredible 390 in this one-day game with M. Ntshiza slamming 190.

MCA Division One:

Lancashire II 119 (F Mohamed 6-27).

Zingari 104 (S Middleton 35, C Naidoo 35; D Knipe 7-28, K Basson 3-44).

Lancs II won by 15 runs.

Masibemunye I 390 (M Ntshiza 190, M Ndlovu 79; G Amod 4-117).

Young Natalians II 132 (H Henderson 42; A Mkhize 3-34).

Masibemunye I won by 258 runs.

FIXTURES: Orientals vs Northern Districts (Woodlands), Young Natalians vs Midlands (Varsity II).
