2011-03-30 00:00

THREE people were lucky to escape death when the driver of a car travelling on the N2 lost control of and crashed the vehicle just past Park Rynie.

A Netcare 911 report confirmed that the car rolled several times before coming to a stop.

Two of the occupants sustained serious injuries while the third escaped with minor injuries.

Netcare 911 and provincial paramedics arrived at the scene to find the vehicle lying on its roof in the veld.

The passengers were stabilised on the scene and were taken to hospitals in the area.

Earlier this week, MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mr Willies Mchunu described the high number of recent deaths in the province as “unacceptable”. — WR.
