Two held for killing ANC agent

TWO men have been arrested for the murder of an ANC party agent in Wembezi.

ANC agent Sabelo Sokhela (22) was allegedly killed after voter registration on Nov­ember 10.

On the morning of November 10, he had received threatening phone calls and later that evening he was shot and killed while on his way home.

Police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane said detectives arrested the two suspects at their Wembezi home in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Both men, aged 34 and 35, will appear in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court soon.

Zwane said a task team appointed by the provincial commissioner had been specifically looking into crime in the Wembezi area.
